My Mind on Birthdays

Everyone feels differently about their birthday.

If you are big on astrology you may also call it your Solar Return because the Sun reaches the exact degree it was at your birth on this day.

After working with astrology as a personal practice for 10 years and then interacting with clients for 7, I have come to 2 conclusions about why the solar return is so important.

1) It restarts our natural rhythm.

In my astrology practice I examine the natal, lunar and solar charts. Everyday the real time ascendant meets the degrees of our natal ascendant (natal chart). Every month the moon reaches the degree of our Natal moon (lunar chart). But only once a year does the Sun return to the degree of our natal chart.

Throughout the year we experience the end and beginnings of cycles but the solar return. Marks a moment of our personal rhythm starting again, ready to take on new form.

2) Each solar return is different based on your annual profections and the current transits.
This can inform the outlook of your year, but not always how you would expect.

I love predicting my own future through astrology because I'm usually pleasantly surprised by how predicted energy plays out.
First, your profection year allows us to understand what life areas, archetypes and lessons are coming your way.

Secondly, by examining where the planets are on your solar return you can gain insight to how to move forward, almost like an instruction manual or suggestion manual.

This years Birthday, marks the end of my 3rd house profection year. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, it is a technique where each birthday you enter the next theme or house activations in the astrological wheel. There is a bit more too it which I'll describe in this reflection.

This year highlighted my 3rd house, communication, self expression, siblings, short term travel.
My 3rd house is ruled by Taurus/Venus which adds a theme of focusing on harmony and sustainability.

I can say very positively that this year has brought forth a great rebirth in my communications skills and confidence. I am a lot more clear now and have developed good foundations in my communication for the future. Including: communicating with my higher self and the universe, communicating as an astrologer, a writer and researchers, a sales person, a partner, a friend, a sister and daughter.

This year brought a lot of balance to my life and my relationships (Venus' influence?) I even got engaged to a Gemini! ( another 3rd house connection in my astrological practice). I am not equipped with the tools to maintain/ sustain this balance and honest, authentic communication and i am sp grateful.
