In August 2022, Mars entered Gemini and would stay there for seven months. On October 30th, the planet stationed Retrograde for two and a half months until January 13th. This planet's motion and interactions with other transiting planets can tell us a lot about how 2022 prepares us for actions we need to take in 2023. We can see the horoscope of when Mars entered Gemini below. What strikes me as most interesting is that there was a Grand Square in the sky. This occurs when at least four celestial points are square to each other in different element-ruled signs. Some astrologers consider a grand square only to be true if it involves planets; however, below the square is completed but the South Node Squaring to Saturn in Aquarius and the Sun in Leo. I want to examine this as valid energy because this transit occurs throughout the cycle of the eclipses along the north and south node axis.

I almost started this post with "Hello Team, are you ready to get going?". I guess I felt like I wanted to write some inspirational insight to get us excited to transit from Leo to Virgo. When we transition from a Fire sign to an Earth it can always feel like our candle gets snuffed. If you have earth placements Virgo season is a welcome reprieve from chaos and an introduction into stability.
I wanted to highlight a few big changes around the change of the Zodiac Season Everyone feels differently about their birthday.
If you are big on astrology you may also call it your Solar Return because the Sun reaches the exact degree it was at your birth on this day. After working with astrology as a personal practice for 10 years and then interacting with clients for 7, I have come to 2 conclusions about why the solar return is so important. 1) It restarts our natural rhythm. Something that I have been focusing on when it comes to my astrology practice and learning is tuning into the North Node (NN). In our Natal Charts, the North Node represents what you are meant to reach for in this life. The NN is often associated with our destiny and can shed light on why we gravitate toward specific themes, energies or interests. When examining the transits and how they relate to us and our ultimate soul Journey - should we be connecting with the NN regularly? And how much weight do we give to the current NN?
To be 100 percent honest, when I was beginning my astrology journey I completely ignored the North and South Nodes. I dismissed it as irrelevant to the present moment (and therefore less important in my readings at the time) because it represented our life's purpose and the main lesson we are meant to learn. I was reluctant to use such terminology as “destiny” or “life's purpose” which is why the NN didn't call to me. Since then, having practised astrology for over 6 years now, exiting another spiritual awakening and working through a lot of personal reflection- I now understand why working with the NN regularly can be very impactful for our personal growth and overall journey. |
